The large-scale public artwork, called Yellow 25, has taken over the Spanish Steps in Wembley Park, near Wembley Stadium, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Coldplay’s hit song Yellow. It’s a collaboration between Wembley Park and the Pantone Color Institute, and it also ties in with the band’s upcoming 10-night run at Wembley as part of their Music of the Spheres world tour, which wraps up in London on September 8.
The Spanish Steps link Wembley Stadium to the OVO Arena Wembley, and for this project, all 58 steps have been painted in shades from the Pantone Matching System, starting with soft yellows and fading into rich golden tones. The Spanish Steps have been home to other creative projects before—like a 2024 mural by Frank Styles for Taylor Swift’s Eras tour. Yellow 25 is free for the public to enjoy, except during the 10 days reserved for Coldplay concert ticket holders

Released in the U.K. on June 26, 2000, Yellow became Coldplay’s breakthrough single. Claudio Giambrone, head of cultural programming at Wembley Park, said the project reflects both the song’s legacy and Wembley’s identity as a hub for music and shared experiences.
